“We met with a dozen companies of all sizes and didn’t find great comfort and assurance until we met with Pegasus Technology Solutions. The Pegasus Team “felt right” from the moment we met them. They clearly knew their way around IT and provided an incredible level of comfort for everyone on my team. When our backs were against the wall in a potentially devastating way due to this Ransomware attack, the Pegasus MSP Team instantly reinforced our decision to trust them with our IT. I do not hesitate to give Buck Jones and the entire Pegasus team my full endorsement. We are proud to call Pegasus Technology Solutions the Official Managed IT Provider for the Frisco Roughriders.” - Andy Milvovich, President & General Manager FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS BASEBALL
ROUGHRIDERS SUCCESS STORY | OVERVIEW
The Frisco RoughRiders, a Minor League baseball team of the Texas League and the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, found themselves without an IT provider at the end of 2018. Their collective inhouse knowledge of IT infrastructure was limited, which caused them to be cautious in selecting their next Managed Services Provider. The RoughRiders acknowledged their IT was in a fragile state, with several vulnerabilities relating to server, network and overall security and selected Pegasus MSP after meeting with several other MSPs.
Pegasus put together a custom plan after fully assessing their current IT environment and understanding their business needs. We put together a timeline to migrate their Servers to the Cloud, make the move to Microsoft 365 and set up our full suite of Managed Security monitoring services, backups and reporting systems. This seamless migration was planned for April 1, 2019 for Pegasus to take over as the Official Managed IT Provider for the Frisco RoughRiders.
ROUGHRIDERS SUCCESS STORY | THE CHALLENGE
Upon arriving to the ballpark on Saturday, March 30, 2019 the Frisco RoughRiders realized that they were taken hostage by a Ransomware attack overnight. They lost all access to servers, email, their ticketing system, CRMs and everything just two days prior to the planned IT conversion to strengthen their security. Five days before Opening Day, the Frisco Roughriders were operationally frozen.
ROUGHRIDERS SUCCESS STORY | THE SOLUTION
Upon receiving the call from the RoughRiders, Pegasus had a full team on-site within the hour. Members of the Pegasus MSP Team worked through the night and didn’t leave the ballpark for a full 48 hours to not only restore and remediate the Ransomware attack, but to expedite the planned conversion over the weekend to enhance their security before the week started. By Monday, April 1, Pegasus MSP successfully restored their network and completed the entire IT migration plan components over the weekend.
ROUGHRIDERS SUCCESS STORY | THE OUTCOME
Three days after the Ransomware Remediation, the Frisco Roughriders hosted nearly 10,000 guests that had no idea that the team was operationally paralyzed less than a week earlier. The Pegasus MSP Team jumped into action and dedication to work through the night resulted in a fully-restored, now secure network. As icing on the cake, the Roughriders did not have to pay the ransom.
